ZendCon conference adds open source enterprise topics
In its 11th year, the ZendCon + OpenEnterprise conference returns Oct 15-17 showcasing talent and education from enterprise leaders from all over the world. Speakers and attendees at this year’s event will gather to teach and share practical experiences from the front lines of enterprise PHP and open source environments. The popular topics of discussion among technical business leaders, strategists, and developers in attendance will be about solving real-world, enterprise-class problems.
One interesting change to ZendCon this year is the addition of OpenEnterprise, which will include an even wider variety of open source content and focus discussions around use cases and best practices for the application of PHP and open source to transform business. According to conference organizers, we can expect “more content around machine learning, the blockchain, serverless and more – complementing and extending the scope of the conference,” says Zeev Suraski of ZendCon.
Speaking at this year’s conference on behalf of IBM will be Jesse Gorzinski, Business Architect for IBM I development lab and Open Source technologies, as well as Camilla Sharpe, Business Line Executive for IBM’s portfolio of Open Source Software Support offerings. Sharpe will sit in on a Women in Tech panel discussion to discuss the rise of open source and open collaboration in business, as well as IBM’s support for women in tech. Gorzinski will lead two sessions, IBM i open source administration guide and IBM i’s world of open source.
